A Church Built on Love

  •  This is a true story of how Milner Chapel came to be.
When local farmer, Henry Davis, asked for his brideÕs hand in marriage, his future father- in- law said that there had to be a place of worship for his daughter to attend if she was to become Mrs. Henry Davis.
So, Henry Davis saddled up his horse and over the course of time, riding from Mt Lehman to Delta, collected enough money to proceed with the construction of a new church at Milner.
The new structure was dedicated in the spring of 1886 as a Methodist Church, then in 1925 with the merging of the Methodists and Presbyterians it became the Milner United Church.
Time passed and the congregation disbanded and the building was turned over to the Òre-ignitedÓ Milner Community Association to maintain and preserve. The building had been declared a Heritage Site in 1973.
Today it is operated by the non profit Charitable organization Milner Community Association primarily as a non-denominational Wedding Chapel.  We also host Memorial services and Baptisms.
